Within the framework of the UNESCO Chair in Restoration and Conservation of Heritage Structures of the School of Construction and Transportation Engineering at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso, this Diploma is designed to provide participants with the essential tools for the conservation and restoration of buildings with heritage value, as well as the construction processes aimed at enhancing and safeguarding built heritage.

SPECIFIC OBJETIVES

  • Recognize and valu​e Cultural Heritage

  • Equip participants with tools for the management and formulation of heritage projects

  • Provide knowledge and resources for the consolidation of heritage structures.

  • Incorporate technological processes, including BIM methodology, to digitally illustrate all elements of a heritage building.

Learning system 

The International Diploma will be offered in its first asynchronous version during the second semester of 2025, through the Pontifical Catholic University of Valparaíso’s platform.
 

Subtitles in English and French will be available, making the program accessible to students worldwide. Additionally, we have adopted a flexible methodology that blends video lessons with practical assignments to reinforce learning. Each student can review the materials as often as needed and must adhere to set deadlines for final project submissions. Video tutoring sessions will be scheduled to clarify doubts and address questions. With this flexible learning structure and global perspective, we aim to provide a robust educational experience that meets the needs of a diverse international audience.
